Shrimps are healthy to eat as it provides good amount of protein and various vitamins and minerals. They are also low in calories, carbs and fat. The only part of shrimp that can contribute to raising cholesterol is eating the shrimp paste out of the heads. So to avoid any impact on cholesterol, just skip the heads and eat the meat only.
Shrimp does contain some cholesterol but rest assured, eating shrimp wont raise your blood cholesterol. Cholesterol is produced by your liver and a small amount is contained in foods. This amount in foods doesn't usually contribute much to your blood cholesterol.
Though shrimp are high in dietary cholesterol, foods high in cholesterol generally do not affect blood cholesterol levels, unless an individual is particularly sensitive and, or, consumes an imbalanced diet high in carbohydrates and certain fats.
