Non-alcoholic fatty liver occurs in patients who are obese, have elevated cholesterol and triglycerides. So non-fatty foods are suggested for it. Foods which have a low glycemic index are preferred. Food preparation with using oil or grease is suggested. Green vegetables, lean meat and seafood rich in omega-3 fatty acid are advised.

Vegetable including broccoli, peas, and sweet potatoes, and fruits such as bananas, kiwi, and apricots. Dairy foods, like milk and yogurt, are also high in potassium.
