Certain foods that are known to promote inflammation may increase the risk of developing Polyps in the large intestine or colon. Foods with the highest inflammation are processed meat such as bacon, sausage, hot dogs and red meat such as beef and pork. Other foods that increase the risk are fatty foods, fried foods. Avoid smoked, cured, salted preserved meat. Limit the alcohol.
Polyps are abnormal growth on a mucous membrane. It can occur in many sites in the body, like in the nose, uterus, stomach, colon and rectum.
