'I ORDERED TAYLOR SWIFT'S ULTIMATE KEBAB AND DRANK AT HER FAVOURITE LONDON PUB'
I visited some of Taylor Swift's favourite places in London
I was not only a Swiftie but also tried my best to actually be Taylor today. Today, I visited Taylor’s favourite Kebab shop, Kentish Delight in Kentish town. I was not left disappointed. The now famous Kebab place was featured in Taylor’s music video for End Game and already had Swifites waiting to order at the opening time of midday.
I - just like most people waiting ordered the popular Swifite Kebab, originally known as the chicken Kebab. Taylor quickly snatched the name up as her favourite order. I opted for a small Swiftie Kebab which also had a pattie and salad to go for it.
Student Katie Su, 19, was also waiting for her meal before going back home to get ready for Taylor’s concert at Wembley Park. “I run the Taylor Swift society at the UAL with over 100 members. It’s really nice and a lot of us are going to the show tonight and the next few days.
“We have not been noticed by Taylor next but the society has brought a lot of us clothes together,” she tells me. I was surprised to find out that Katie booked to go to five of Taylor’s shows so getting her favourite kebab was a given. The owner of the Kentish Delight, Ahmed Khan has seen a boom in his business.
“Taylor would always go for the chicken Kebab, she's been here many times, especially for the music video. When she's in London she always comes to visit and buy food from us. She gave the name Swift Kebab because she likes it so much and so many fans want me to change the name of Kentish Delight now,” he tells me before flipping his chicken.
Digging into my now Swift Kebab with burger sauce on the top I could see why Kentish Delight is Taylor's favourite place. The food warmed my stomach as I quickly munched enjoying every bite. I then thought about where else Taylor had visited and found myself at The Spaniard's Inn in Hampstead.
I have to say it is one of the nicest pubs I’ve been to in a while, hitched right on a corner of a hill. I ordered a Cosmopolitan cocktail to have on a sunny Friday afternoon. For those who don’t know, it has cranberry juice, lime and most important - Vodka. Sitting outside in their pub garden and sipping on my drink was my highlight as people ordered their fish and chips and wine, gearing up for the weekend.
Taylor not only has good taste in music but also in food and drinks, I will definitely be going back.
